Substance Use Disorder (MAT) in Logan, Utah

Struggling with alcohol, opioids, kratom, or other substances can feel overwhelming and difficult to talk about. Many people worry about being judged or misunderstood when seeking help.

At Reed Psychiatry, I provide personalized outpatient treatment using therapy and medication-assisted treatment when helpful. Whether your substance use began recently or has been affecting your life for years, recovery is absolutely possible.

What Substance Use Challenges Can Feel Like

Many patients come in saying:

  • “I keep trying to stop but it doesn’t stick.”

  • “I don’t want to go through withdrawal again.”

  • “I feel stuck in the cycle.”

  • “I’m worried things are getting worse.”

Common experiences include:

  • Cravings that feel difficult to control

  • Withdrawal symptoms when trying to stop

  • Using more than intended

  • Sleep problems or anxiety between uses

  • Stress on relationships or work

  • Feeling discouraged after relapse attempts

If this sounds familiar, treatment can help.

A Comprehensive Substance Use Evaluation

Your 60-minute evaluation includes:

  • A full psychiatric interview

  • Review of substance use history and recovery goals

  • Screening for anxiety, depression, ADHD, sleep issues, or trauma

  • Medication-assisted treatment discussion when appropriate

  • Safety planning and withdrawal risk assessment

  • A personalized treatment plan built around your preferences

This visit takes place in a respectful, judgment-free medical environment.

What Outpatient Treatment Looks Like

Most patients:

  • Attend regular follow-up visits

  • Continue work and daily responsibilities

  • Participate in therapy or recovery planning

Hospitalization is not required for most people.

Treatment is available even if you are not ready to stop completely yet.

A Judgment-Free Medical Environment

Substance use disorders are medical conditions—not personal failures.

My role is to provide practical treatment, support, and evidence-based options in a confidential outpatient setting where recovery can begin safely and at your pace.
